Ingrid Martinez is the Mutual Aid Program Coordinator at Dignity and Power Now.

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Ingrid’s commitment to prison abolition is rooted in her family’s experience with incarceration. Her brother’s incarceration and later struggles with housing, mental health, and substance use shaped her understanding of the urgent need for alternatives to incarceration.

Ingrid first joined DPN as a volunteer, where she connected her family’s story as part of a larger systemic issue that many Black and Brown families face. Since then, Ingrid has led DPN’s Mutual Aid program, supporting hundreds of system-impacted people with financial assistance to meet their basic needs and support their reentry.

Through the Mutual Aid program, Ingrid has been working to build strong support networks while deepening relationships with community members as part of a movement to end mass incarceration in Los Angeles County.

Ingrid holds a BA in Political Science/International Affairs with a minor in Latin American Studies.
