Dignity and Power Now (DPN) is a Los Angeles–based, Black and Brown-led grassroots organization founded in 2012 to secure dignity and power for incarcerated people, their families, and communities. We are building a future where communities thrive by investing in care and divesting from policing and incarceration.

Grounded in prison abolition, transformative justice, and community healing, our mission is simple and bold: to build people-powered movements that make cages obsolete and create real safety rooted in accountability, healing, and love.

Many of our team members and leaders are directly impacted by incarceration and police violence. This work is personal. It is communal. And it is urgent.

#fundabolition

Los Angeles is at a crossroads. The cages don't fund themselves. Neither does community care.

As politicians double down on incarceration and policing, DPN is on the ground — organizing, healing, and building power with the people most impacted.

We can't slow down. And we won't.

Every campaign we run, every healing clinic we host, every family we stand beside depends on people like you choosing to invest in a different kind of future.

When you give, you support:

  • Mutual aid and healing justice programming
  • Leadership development for system-impacted people
  • Policy campaigns to end incarceration and state violence
  • Community organizing rooted in people power
This is abolition in action. This is Dignity and Power Now.
