Ingrid Martinez (Mutual Aid Coordinator) first joined DPN in 2019 and has been working with the Mutual Aid program to help provide tangible support to system-impacted people. Like many others, incarceration has burdened Ingrid’s family with years of pain and separation. She is inspired by the DPN staff in the commitment to seeing the end of all police and prisons. While working in the Mutual Aid team, Ingrid has connected with hundreds of individuals who are either financially or emotionally struggling after serving time in CA prisons/jails. Although there is much work to do in dismantling the exploitative and predatory force of the prison-industrial complex, Ingrid believes that DPN’s Mutual Aid is living proof of how we can live amongst one another without relying on government institutions.
